The Facebook Files

I forgot I published a selection to Facebook instead of the Blog.
Here are a few more analogue photos of Skate City and me while in the darkroom.

"I'm not sure where on campus I'll be later, so ping me and I'll let you know"

A book I read as a child was The Story about Ping.
It seemed a duck might know where Chin was; so I asked one at the Royal Show this year.
I got a head shake but I think that might have been because this Indian Runner Duck did not think I should listen to the Pekin Duck on the other side.
Indonesian chickens;
 This was a scruffy variety;
 The children's artwork was commendable;

Refugees and Skateboarding

My Advanced Diploma art project looked at juxtaposing skate culture and refugees. The bright coloured backgrounds are reminiscent of fruit. Today's verse for the day on my mobile is;

Luke 6:43-45 New International Version (NIV)
A Tree and Its Fruit

43 “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.44 Each tree is recognised by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thorn-bushes, or grapes from briars. 45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
This tied in quite well with what I read in my Philippians reader; "Be Joyful" while on break from NMTAFE at St Johns Lutheran Church.
The difference between spiritual fruit and human religious activity is that the fruit brings glory to Jesus Christ. Whenever we do anything out of our own strength, we have the tendency to boast about it. True spiritual fruit is so beautiful and wonderful that no human can claim credit for it; the glory must go to God alone.
Here is a few highlights from a mural in the courtyard;

Return of the Freeway maintenance crew

On the other side of Perth at Claisebrook Station.
I have been skating through this area recently going to Victoria Park Potters House. Last night I resolved to wear my helmet while on street skates because I have been suffering from headaches.
I think I will feel more empowered to risk slides and tricks now. I have been wearing wrist guards in the past but I found another one the other day, so now have two on one wrist.

Two Skates

Here's the picture of I used for the artwork print below. I wanted a wall-ride picture with silhouette potential so this one fit the bill. For me wall-riding was what skate city times were about, but I would have liked it to have been much more. In the end the Edge Skatepark was the darker reality where I met both Natas Kaupas and Mark Gonzales on different occasions. Natas skates the Edge Skatepark mini ramp at Fremantle while Phil Dodd and I look on 1989...that's Neil Atkinson too.
Here is a photo I took of Franco and Phil skating the Pier St Carpark in 1987.
This photo Steve Atherton waiting while Franco drops in at Albany Snake-run also by me.
